Ashlyn + Peter | Atlanta Engagement Photography| Freedom Parkway Bridge | Olmsted Linear Park
Greetings! We would like to introduce you to Ashlyn + Peter. This lovely couple comes to us from past clients Lindsey + Patrick! We’ve had the pleasure of photographing Lindsey + Patrick’s wedding a few years ago and a recent portrait session at Serenbe.
We are thankful that our clients chat about us to their friends. We like to get to know people. Let’s get to know Ashlyn + Peter.
(S) Ashlyn, tell us a little about you and Peter:
(A) Peter turned 30 February 24th. He’s lived in Atlanta since the age of 7. Peter is one of four siblings and his family is from Iowa. Peter is a Sales Executive at a startup company called Insightpool. They specialize in B2C marketing using social relationship intelligence to connect companies with their target audience. The startup environment is great for Peter because he loves to teach, is a leader and thrives on teamwork.
I turned 28 on January 22nd. I’m an Atlanta native but my entire family is from Ohio and Pennsylvania. My family is a very diverse group. I experienced a little bit of everything growing in the south but never fully developed a southern accent! I work at Northside Hospital as a Senior Management Consultant specializing in the Women’s Center operations. It’s fun working directly for the hospital. It alleviates the burden of travel.
(S) An Atlanta native who does not like to sit in traffic? The irony. (Ha, Ha) – How did you and Peter meet?
(A) I have a very close group of friends from the University of Georgia, mine and Peter’s alma mater. We did not know each other at UGA. I (truly) met Peter when I reconnected with my college friends on a weekend mountain getaway. He took me on our first date a few short weeks later and the rest is history!
Peter and I were engaged January 30th. Our birthdays, anniversary, and Valentine ’s Day fall between January and February so we try to take a trip each year. I suggested we go to Peter’s family lake house in Michigan. Torch Lake is very special to Peter and his family. They have visited the lake since Peter’s mother was very young. It’s beautiful and the lake is one of clearest bodies of water in the world. We usually go to Torch Lake in the summer but wanted to see the winter scene. I’ve always wanted to try snowshoeing so Friday we strapped on our gear and started trudging down the lake. As we made our way back from our walk, I suggested we take a picture of ourselves in our snow gear. Peter set the timer on the camera and ran back for the picture. He went to see if the picture turned out. He said no, so we tried again. He set the time, ran back to me, but instead of smiling for the camera he asked me to be his wife. It was the most surprising, happy and surreal moments of my life and Peter captured it all on video.
(S) Sneaky job Peter. I love how it came together so naturally and he still captured the actual moment.
We are so excited to share Ashlyn + Peter’s engagement session with all of you. We showered the Freedom Parkway Bridge with cheap champagne. It was awesome.
Bowie and I are thrilled to be apart of Ashlyn + Peter’s wedding and can’t wait for Atlanta in the fall. Enjoy!
